THE
SWISS CHALET – HOME AWAY FROM HOME
 |
Max
Liechti, the owner of
The Swiss Chalet |
A "Home Away From Home" is to
describe a Swiss Restaurant located in Tsim Sha Tsui Hong Kong
– The Swiss Chalet.
In fact, the start of The Swiss Chalet was followed by the great
journey of Max Liechti,
the Master Chef and Proprietor of The Swiss Chalet.
His journey began
when at fourteen he worked as a kitchen boy at Beau Rivage, a hotel
near Lake Geneva. A year later he began his two and a half year chef
apprenticeship at the Hotel Krone in Bremgarten. Then the next few
years young chef Max worked for various Swiss hotels perfecting his
craft. Finally from 1970 to1975, Max was executive chef for three
hotels near Saint Moritz.

"Home" Feel of The Swiss Chalet |
This should not be
the end of journey as Max was eager to travel the world tasting the
many foods it had to offer. Max left for Hong Kong to become chef at
several famous Hong Kong hotels for a few years. In 1979, he moved to
the Philippines to work for the famed Manila Hotel and with a great
offer from the Hong Kong Hotel he was back in Hong Kong. In 1987, Max
stilled had one more trip to Taiwan and spent a year working for the
Hilton Hotel in Taipei.
His travelling came
to an end and The Swiss Chalet was opened on 6 November 1998. "Home
away from home" The Swiss Chalet transports you to the homeland of its
owner by surrounding you with windows overlooking Swiss Scenery and by
serving you authentic Swiss dishes.

In 1999,
Max decided to use Seito ® POS System
to streamline the operation process, from taking orders to billing. The
staff can focus on providing better service to customers. "Of course
various reports generated by Seito ®
gives me hints to improve the business" said Max
Seito Systems Ltd.
